The characteristics of the surface treatment system, such as long lasting, high friction coeffi- cient as well as good drainage capacity due to an above-average mean roughness of > 1.6 mm, have contributed to increased safety during take-offs and landings.
 

Another positive aspect was the additional protective function of the ANTISKID coating with regard to the asphalt base, namely extending the lifespan of the entire runway system. As we have only had positive experience with this surface treatment system, we will continue to work with it.
